Unfortunately, there are no quick fixes when it comes to poverty, substance abuse and homelessness. We hope that doesn't discourage you from stepping up and stepping in, because the world needs you.
Here are some ideas to get you started. Some are just a click away.
“You never know who you’re going to help. You never know when someone’s going to change.” – Marcus
Just do what you normally do, but do it with a twist.
Print or pick up some UGM service cards, tie them to a tube of lip balm or a soft granola bar, and carry a supply in your car or purse. Give them to the people you see on the street.
Go through your closets and cabinets regularly and donate your extra stuff to the UGM Thrift Stores, then shop there for the things you’re missing!
Whether you’re a student, a retiree or somewhere in between, there is a way you can partner with UGM to help people in need!
