Martha started partying at 13. She started being sentenced to juvenile detention at 15. Her last stay was for a grand theft charge, and during that six months, she found out she was pregnant. “I found myself at 17 about to be a convicted felon and pregnant, and I had no idea what to do.”

Martha was alone and vulnerable.

She entered UGM Recovery at the Center for Women and Children and, almost immediately, she was surrounded by support.

“I felt so at home. Even the first day, I felt like, Wow! My life is going to be so different!”

And two years later, life is definitely different. Martha completed the recovery program and found a job she loves in fashion design. Most of all, she loves being a healthy mom for Fabian.
